Complete Original Japanese Gold Crest Yoroi (Armor) and Kabuto (Helmet) Set. Set Includes: Okegawa-Do, Zunari Kabuto, Menpo, Kote, Haidate, Sune, and Maetate.
The particular set is designed to be more practical and combat focused than for show like the later Edo period armor sets. The owner's name is written on the inside of the body armor. Having the owner's name written inside the armor piece is extremely uncommon and would suggests it was made as one of similar armor sets. This and the practical nature of the armor is indicative of being worn by a bodyguard or someone of similar service to a Diamyo.
