Print undated but volumes from which it comes are known to have been published in 1856. This listing is for one of the best known prints from Perry's Expedition, "Japanese Woman from Simoda". Plate measures approximately 11 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches.
Generally clean, moderate to heavier foxing but mostly to margins as shown in photos. Edge-wear, light creasing to corners, rougher along right edge with chips/short closed tears along right edge not affecting image area. Plate is moderately toned, more toned along edges, but overall still quite bright.
