A SUPERB Japanese Meiji Period Aote Kutani Flower Vase

Please read the whole description! On offer is a Japanese Kutani Porcelain Flower Vase (Ikebana). It is approximately 22.7 cm tall, the diameter in the middle of the body is 17cm and at the top 13.5 cm.

Aote Kutani is a sub type of Kutani. It means Blue Kutani but it is actually a version with green colour. This is quite different than normal Kutani and hence it is sought after by collectors. The finish on this item is just superb. Recently sourced directly from Japan. A collectors' item for sure!

Condition Report: This flower vase is in very good / excellent condition, especially given its age! There is one faint tiny hairline on the inner part of the top rim (please see photo 11) and another one on the base.

But they have no affect to the vase at all. There is some lack of glaze in some areas, which is quite normal for old Kutani. Most of it is not even noticeable, but one area can be seen in photo 10.

This is a firing fault and not a man made damage. Other than that, no other issue. Truly remarkable condition for the size and age! For sure one of the best such example you can find. Needless to appraise this item any more.

Photos don't really do it any justice. You have to handle it to appreciate its beauty. I very much promise you this piece is worth the price tag.

It is simply put superb. Should you need any additional info, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions. I would be very happy to assist you.

Please study the photos provided as they form part of the description. Should you need more photos I would be very happy to provide you with them.

What you see is what you get! A few things about me and my listings for art pieces.

Whether you believe it or not my interest started from Traditional Japanese razors (Kamisoris) and Natural Sharpening stones (Toishi) and quickly expanded to anything Japanese related really and absolutely fell in love it! Then expanded to Chinese art pieces as well. Hence, I have sought the expertise of a Native Japanese speaking Accredited Art Appraiser with nearly 3 decades of experience. I use his guidance alongside the description of accredited auctioneers to describe my lots and in line with similar known examples.

Of course mistakes can occur and I will take full responsibility if that happens. If you are qualified to do so and you spot an alleged error in my listing, then please let me know.
