Antique Japan Taisho Period Satsuma Vase Signed Koshida Cabinet Vase 3.5
Please see my other fine Asian antiques this week. Highly colored chrysanthemums and other flowers adorn a crackled classic Satsuma clay base, and are finished with gleaming gold glaze. The maker's mark is on the bottom and corresponds with the Koshida factory for this era. The vase measures 3.5 inches tall without a stand.
The stand is not included since it doesn't really fit this piece, and is only for display. Not one chip or crack. The highly fired gold glaze is bright and there is no wear to the rims or the other intensely colored enamels. As such, there will be scuffs, scratches on stones and metal, visible use, sometimes slightly bent ring bands or clasps or rings that need attention. I will do my best to photograph these or point out any issues. I leave the patina on pieces, especially with oxidation. If you would prefer something to be shinier and polished before it is mailed, please contact me and I will use an industry recommended product to hand polish, although it may leave a slight odor that can easily be removed by you with rinsing in water with gentle detergents.
