The origins of this item cannot be verified. It may have been made for kabuki performances but shows the exact composition and pieces (along with weight) of true samurai armor.
The contents of this piece have fared well retaining almost all original components with slight imperfections such as the inner chin support of the mask peeling along with obvious dirt or scuffs from age and storage. Please see all pictures for full representation before purchasing.

STRAIGHT FROM JAPAN - This is an authentic antique Japanese edo period style complete samurai armor. Despite no specific monikers indicating production, due to the age of this piece it is unlikely it was produced for theater or display like many newer pieces.The clan symbol is located on the storage box, but it may be from a less famous clan of the past or has added feathers to the design throwing off which it belonged to. The design featured is similar to that of the Kamei or Kimura clans, possibly even the Sasa. The coloring of the armor has similarities to the color styles of Ando and Amako though. If you are looking for real Japanese armor, you've come to the right place.
This piece still retains all the workings that made it a wearable protector in the first place and material and weight (21kg minus the storage case) indicates authenticity. The cuirass features the design of a dragon and the armor has overall retained a very reliable quality among both the rope cords and metal protection.
