Here we have a Brilliant 19th Century Japanese Edo Original Suit of Samurai Kabuto Hanpo Armour, its Japanese term. Edo Period Okashi Okegawa-do Gusoku Kon Urushi-Nuri. Very nice original example of a Mid to Late Period Japanese Edo Samurai Armour in original condition, there is frequent wear and tear throughout, in some places period repairs, some places the "urushi" has chipped or come off, the fragile paper mache box is crumpled and damaged in sections on the armour in other places the lacing is snapped or undone, the whole suit would definitely benefit from restoration, however is capable of display as it is and is a pleasing suit to look at, this particular suit would of been worn by a retainer or low status fighting samurai soldier, many are often seen adorning Japanese fortresses, The armour comes with a custom made wooden stand to display on, this would be perfect for a enthusiast, museum, display, coporate office, study room, lecture, lockdown collector, samurai dealer, restorer and much much more!
