In 1931, graduated from Tokyo university of arts, and 1932 won a special prize at Bunten. He participated in numerous prestigious shows, where he won a number of awards.In 1973, at Nitten, he won a prime minister prize. The Nitten Exhibition is the most popular and prestigious Japanese art organization, where only the best artists participate in its annual exhibitions. It was started by the Japanese Imperial Ministry of Education in 1907 under the name "Bunten".
It was later renamed "Teiten", and in 1946 took on its current name, "Nitten". Till this day it remains as the most recognized and prestigious Art promoting exhibition. Age: 20 th century, Showa period. 21 cm (8.3 inch) H. 19 cm (7.5 inch).
