Wonderful example of find hand-painted 19th century Japanese porcelain! In good shape, though has a previous repair (see glue on one leg), a long, partial hairline crack on the main inside only, & more recently a few chips on the inside lip of the lid. Otherwise, no chips or other marks on the paint or gilding. It's such a unique, beautiful piece! I opted to not repair it, but hope that the next owner would have it professionally repaired.
The three scenes include Karako and Manchuria children playing, a beautiful house, bridge, & mountain scene, & 5 of 7 immortals or warriors? Also plenty of beautiful gold work / gilding, & coloring. Lotus seed handle on lid. 3.75/1.9 cm high.
