Vintage car volkswagen tin battery made in japan japanese minty old toy antique
1966 at the Farmers Market toy store in Los Angeles. I tried it about and then put it away for another 50 years basically.
It would do left and right turns and forward. I don't remember if it would do reverse or if the fan turned in the back. I did not store this with the batteries inside so there is no leakage issue.
This has never been repaired or modified. I see some others listed on here that look like they are not completely original. I only want to sell this one time.
It's an antique so using this as a modern toy will fail. Take a look at the other sellers of these closely. I do not think they are 100 percent correct and authentic. Looks like mismatched parts and repaints. I don't know but many just look suspicious. The controllers look like modern replacements and the cord does not match on others I see listed. The vintage toy collector world has a lot of unscrupulous traders from what I can see.I get many offers for ten bucks for this. I think I paid over 6 or 7. It was expensive because regular department stores did not carry it.
